Hugh Richards

Principal

Hugh, with Mark Nesbitt, is a founding partner of Latimer Partners. Prior to Latimer Partners, Hugh had been a Principal at TMT Partners since returning to Australia in 2010, after 15 years in investment banking in the UK. Hugh spent 10 years in London with Credit Suisse where he consecutively ran the corporate divestitures team, business development for the financial sponsors group and M&A for one of the key industry teams in London. Hugh left to join Bank of America in London where he was one of two Managing Directors jointly leading European private equity coverage. Hugh has also worked with Greenhill Caliburn in the Australian M&A market. Hugh’s work in London and Australia included the full range of local and cross-border European acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, privatisations, corporate restructurings and debt restructurings on behalf of private and public companies and state entities. He has led multiple assignments for global corporations in each of the telecoms, media and technology spaces. Hugh’s career began at international law firm Baker & McKenzie in Sydney and he is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Hugh has an MBA from the University of Cambridge and degrees in Economics and Law (honours) from the University of Sydney. Hugh specialises in providing advice on corporate strategy, capital structuring (including capital raising) and mergers and acquisitions.

Mark Nesbitt

Principal

Mark spent the first 21 years of his career as an entrepreneur successfully building, acquiring and selling companies in the telecommunications and technology sector. Mark moved into corporate advisory in 2010, initially with Sydney Capital Partners and in 2014 Mark joined TMT Partners, a boutique corporate advisory firm focused on the telecoms, media and technology sector. During his tenure at TMT Partners between 2014 and 2020, Mark advised on 30 transactions including public and private company capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and public company takeovers. Mark’s entrepreneurial background in the tech sector and over 13 years of corporate advisory experience make him well suited to advise high-growth Digital Economy companies on a wide range of corporate strategies and transactions. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland (NZ).

Alvina Galstian

Director

Alvina has over 15 years of financial services experience across deal advisory and corporate development in Australia and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Latimer Partners as Vice President in 2021 Alvina spent 6 years with the Commonwealth Bank where she was Executive Manager of the Group’s Investment Development team. In this role she was responsible for the Group’s capital investment portfolio, providing independent commercial advice to the CFO and Group Executives on ~$1bn capital investments per year. From 2006 to 2014 Alvina was with KPMG, predominantly in the global M&A Deal Advisory practice working with large corporate clients across consumer, media and telecommunications sectors in Sydney & London. Alvina holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW and is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Robert Carollo

Senior Associate

Robert brings extensive financial services experience in M&A and investment advisory across Australia and the United Kingdom. In 2021, Robert joined Latimer Partners following his position at a London-based corporate advisory firm that specialised in local and cross-border M&A. He also worked at Cambridge Associates, a US-based global investment firm, advising institutional investors in Australia and New Zealand on investment strategy and portfolio management. 

Robert holds a Master of Science in Financial Analysis from London Business School and Bachelor degrees in Law (First Class Honours) and Business (Distinction) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Harry Burrell

Analyst

Harry has a diverse background with experience in corporate advisory and accounting. He has Corporate Advisory experience from his time at Latimer Partners as well as previously spending time as a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Finance team at RSM Australia. Before entering Corporate Advisory, Harry spent time as a Senior Accountant in the Audit and Assurance division at Hall Chadwick. Harry has a Bachelor of Commerce with Majors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Western Australia, as well as being a full member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand having completed his diploma of Chartered Accounting.
